about

Ahhhh......the blues. Such a powerful vehicle. Innocence, young love, a twenty-year age difference, bring it into the ’40’s, with a great
orchestration effort by Bob, makes it one of the best moments of my career.!

lyrics

Some take it hard
They like it blue
It’s always so, so sad,
But very true.

Some folks will lead you down a colourful path
with a promise of a life that’s true,
First time you set eyes on a woman of class
She just broke your heart in two.!

Try to remember, what you were thinkin’ about
when she stomped on your heart,
with her fourteen-inch heels,
You went down for the count
With a mountain of a doubt,
While your love - stood unrequited.

....Every word of it...
Every thought of it
Every moment was true

It was in early spring of nineteen-forty-two,
‘Often seen walkin' fifteenth avenue,
Eyes that looked through you
and scoured your soul.
She would break your heart in two.

....Every word of it...
Every thought of it
Every moment was true

Some thoughts will haunt you till you’re seventy-two
While you question why they linger with you.
Life’s opportunities, you might let them slip through,
Lest they break your heart in two.!

Some take it hard
They like it blue
It’s always so, so sad,
But very true.
