about

This one’s got history. Back in the eighties, we were concerned with the ‘’Rat Race’’. Trying to keep up, catch up, get ahead...the ‘’winner’’ instinct. Bob did an excellent job with the total concept while we revisit, lightly, our Progressive roots. (I’ll never use the term ‘’prog’’). Truly INSPIRING!!!

lyrics

Be the best, to make things happen
There's no time for hesitation here!
Wisen up, you’re in the fast lane,
Don't let anybody interfere

Look around, see all the ‘’mothers’’
Chew you up and spit you out,
just to take your place
Make a move, it's now or never
Don't you know that this is just a race!

We’re running hot, We’re running blind,
We’re trying hard to find a sign,
A little something to show us we’re human

There’s no time for bleeding hearts nor place for any empathy,
Pity’s for the weak you know, and victory comes from strength
Take your chance, There’s nothing left to lose here
The finish line is yours to cross right now!

Despite the competition, the many runners close behind,
all feel your hunger for the line,
One last breath and baby,
I said, One last breath and baby, that’s the race

We’re running hot, We’re running blind
We’re running wild, We cross the line
Attesting to the fact that we’re all human

There you are, now you're the leader
Aren't you glad you put your pain away
You know, you were always better
No one dared to have a word to say

Chewed 'em up, don't talk about it
Sometimes you just have to push the pace
lose your confidence, and you know, you could blow
'Cause you know you still are in the Race

We’re running days, we’re running nights
The lights are shining good and bright,
We’re standing on the podium,
Everything here, just feels right,
It’s good to be part of the human race.
